Welcome Prince George!!!! A London taxi just for you!
Posted on 14 August 2013
It seems that the world has gone Royal Baby mad over recent weeks so it is rather fitting that our new range is designed with your own little prince or princess in mind. Coming soon is the Snug-a-licious winter 2013 and spring/summer 2014 collection with more luscious designs and the same softest ever fabric.
Our London bus design has been so popular that we are introducing an extended London range including George the Taxi. My nephew Hugh has insisted T-Rex makes an appearance, after all, what is a pair of kids’ PJs without a dinosaur theme I hear every 5 year old ask? I have also spent a long time designing and refining Simon the Sausage Dog. It took me a while to get the shape right but I am very happy with him. I am sure my founding partner Simon would appreciate the humour of having a sausage dog named after him, especially as I have given him nice pink ears! This one is dedicated to your memory Handsome Ransom. Watch this space for more kid inspired icons such as flamingos and sharks.
One of the hardest things about designing a new range is deciding on the basic fabric colours. My manufacturer has been very frustrated with me as I request “one last colour range sample” for the fifth or sixth time. I have spent a lot of time researching what colours suit our designs as well as panelling all of my neighbours’ kids to see what they like. I did look into latest trends and Pantone Colour of the Year Reports, but I prefer to do my own thing based on what the kids around me like. The result is a brighter more fun and funky range that brings our icons alive and has been approved by my lovely panel of little friends Aiden: 10, Eliza: 8, Emilie: 6, Lily-ann:8 Hugh : 7 and of course my niece Keara, 11 (our little product development and design consultant.)
Lovely stuff.
